School-Based Mental Health Services

Bringing clinical support directly into the schools that need it most.

Our Mission

At MindWell, we believe that the best outcomes for students happen when mental health support is woven into the fabric of the school community. We are committed to uplifting the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of students, families, educators, and schools across New York and Vermont — because meaningful, accessible support delivered inside the school setting creates the most lasting change.

What We Do

Students today face levels of stress, anxiety, and trauma that affect their ability to learn, connect, and thrive. At the same time, teachers and school staff are navigating their own burnout while trying to meet the growing needs of their students. Schools are caught in the middle — under-resourced and overwhelmed.
MindWell works directly within schools to address these challenges at every level — for students, educators, and school leadership — through a comprehensive, multi-tiered model of support. We don’t arrive as outsiders. We become part of the team, working alongside existing school mental health staff to understand the unique culture and needs of each community, filling gaps in capacity, and ensuring every student who needs support has access to it.

Our Services

Clinical Mental Health Services

Our licensed clinicians provide individual psychotherapy, diagnostic evaluations, and evidence-based treatment for students and families directly within the school setting. By bringing care into the school building, we remove the barriers — transportation, stigma, scheduling — that prevent students from getting help. We treat a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, behavioral challenges, grief, and family stress, using approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and solution-focused therapy.

Crisis Support & Consultation

We provide real-time crisis support and consultation for school staff, along with school-wide crisis response planning and policy development in partnership with leadership — so your team is never navigating a difficult moment alone.

Social-Emotional Learning & Skill-Building

Our clinicians facilitate group-based social-emotional learning programs and skill-building workshops that support the whole student body, not just those receiving individual treatment.

Professional Development & Training for Educators

School staff receive foundational, evidence-based training on the neurobiological impacts of stress and trauma, and learn concrete relational strategies to reduce classroom behavioral challenges — so teachers feel equipped, not overwhelmed.

Classroom Coaching

MindWell clinicians work alongside teachers to integrate school-wide and individualized approaches for students with emotional and behavioral health needs, building teacher capacity across the entire classroom.

Educator Wellbeing

We are equally committed to the adults in the building. MindWell offers school-based wellness programming, self-care training, and individual support for teachers and staff — because educators can only give what they have. Reducing burnout starts with taking care of the people who show up every day.

Family Engagement & Care Coordination

We actively engage families and coordinate care with outside providers to ensure continuity of support that extends beyond the school day.

Who We Serve
